Triple H reportedly set to put WWE title on 6 ft 5 in legend after 12 years at WrestleMania 41

WrestleMania 41 is still far away, but Triple H-led WWE creative appears to have started mapping out some matches in advance. According to a recent report, fans could see a major championship change hands on The Showcase of the Immortals.

Cody Rhodes is expected to walk into WrestleMania 41 as the champion. Fans have thrown in several bigwigs who could challenge The American Nightmare at The Show of Shows.

Chief among them is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. The 6ft 5in Attitude Era legend has been long-rumored to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. The Final Boss pinned The American Nightmare to pick up a tag team win on Night 1 of WrestleMania 40. The following week, he confronted Rhodes and made it clear that he was not finished with the SmackDown Superstar.

At Bad Blood, The People's Champ once again showed up to issue a warning to the Undisputed WWE Champion. It became almost a foregone conclusion that the two men were destined to collide.

Xero News learned that The Rock will not only challenge Cody Rhodes but also dethrone him at WrestleMania next year.

'Rock beats Cody Drops the title Was orginal mania 40 plans just with roman in codys place Rocks head writer confirmed those plans for mania 40," the report stated.

If this happens, this will mark the Brahma Bull's first championship win in nearly 12 years. The Rock last held the world title in 2013 after knocking CM Punk off his perch and ending his reign at 434 days.

However, his reign didn't last long, as he dropped his WWE Championship to John Cena at the main event of WrestleMania 29.

What happened to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes?

Kevin Owens put Cody Rhodes on the shelf at Saturday Night's Main Event.

The Prizefighter faced a controversial defeat that night, which caused him to go off the rails and attack the babyface. The Canadian star took out The American Nightmare with a banned piledriver and left the arena with a stolen Winged Eagle belt.

WWE recently announced that Cody Rhodes has been diagnosed with axial compression of the cervical spine and has a cervical strain with spasm. This will rule him out of action for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, Kevin Owens has begun calling himself a "True WWE Champion." He invaded the company's Headquarters during the RAW on Netflix kickoff event.

Will he get punished for his actions? Fans will likely find out on SmackDown this Friday.
