Two former champions officially leave WWE – Reports
Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid (The Dyad) have reportedly departed WWE.
The two superstars wrestled in NXT UK for several years and even held the NXT UK Tag Team titles for 230 days. Three years ago, Fowler and Reid moved to NXT, where they had a three-year run and were part of The Schism stable.
Earlier this year, the two English wrestlers requested their release from the Stamford-based company. Nevertheless, the promotion refused. According to later reports, Fowler and Reid decided to let their contracts run out. The Dyad last competed in August when they lost to the Creed Brothers in a Steel Cage match.
According to a report from Fightful Select a few hours ago, The Dyad's contracts have expired. The two former NXT UK Tag Team Champions are now officially free agents.
Jagger Reid seemingly confirmed leaving WWE on Saturday. Check out the details here.
Booker T is unhappy to see The Dyad leave WWE
WWE Hall of Famer and current NXT color commentator, Booker T, previously addressed The Dyad's departure on his Hall of Fame podcast. The wrestling legend disclosed that they were among his favorite wrestlers.
Booker T predicted Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid could join AEW or return to their home country.
"The Dyad, those guys just let their contract run out. They'll be leaving the company. They may be showing up in AEW — you never know. They may be going back to the UK. Those guys were two of my favorites. I thought they had something good going. I like those guys; hate to see them go," he said. [H/T: PostWrestling]
If Fowler and Reid sign with AEW, they would join a long list of former WWE Superstars who moved to Tony Khan's promotion. Hall of Famer Adam Copeland (Edge) was the latest name to join that list. He recently made his AEW debut after his contract also expired.
Adam Copeland (Edge) is now "free," says AEW star. Check out the details here.
