Update on Big E's future in WWE before RAW - Reports
Ahead of The New Day's 10th-anniversary show, there's been an update on Big E's future in the company. Reports have emerged amidst the speculation about what's next for him.
It was reported earlier in 2019, that WWE has signed all three members of the New Day to five-year contracts with the company.
The recent report by Fightful Select stated that there was no update on the status of Xavier Woods or Kofi Kingston at this time. There had been no talk of injury time added, re-signings of new contracts by them, or even extensions. However, there is a lot of speculation about Big E ahead of the New Day anniversary show. It appears that sources within the company don't believe that any injury time was added to Big E's contract as of earlier this year.
The star's serious neck injury in 2022 sidelined him and prevented him from competing in the ring. It's not known whether the nature of his deal changed at the time, but the report did state that it would make sense for more time not to be added to his deal since it was expected that he would be an in-ring star. Since his injury, he has started making regular appearances on digital content, and these apparently counted towards his current deal.
The report concluded that while things may have changed since then, as of earlier in the Summer, that was the word on Big E's future.
Thus, it remains to be seen whether he gets on a new contract or if the nature of his deal being changed affects his future. It remains to be seen what the star does in the 10th-anniversary episode, and whether it's possible for him to return to the ring anytime soon.
