Update on CM Punk's health after scary collapse at WWE Bad Blood - Reports
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre locked horns for the third and most probably the final time this past Saturday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Punk and McIntyre battled inside the Hell in a Cell, displaying elite levels of resilience and creativity and the core meaning of Bad Blood.
The hard-hitting bout was intensely physical, filled with pure hatred and, as promised, both superstars busted each other’s heads open. The Second City Saint won the match after he hit McIntyre with GTS with a steel chain wrapped around his knee. Both men were banged up after the contest, and fans were worried about their well-being. Punk ended up collapsing on his way out and doctors rushed to help him. They administered an oxygen mask to help him breathe, which caused concern about the former champion's health.
Speaking on the Fightful Select Report Podcast, Sean Ross Sapp revealed that Punk was fine and the collapse spot was planned as it enhanced the sense of danger for which classic HIAC bouts were famous.
On the other hand, Drew McIntyre was reportedly legit hurt and required 16 staples to close the wound. His head was busted open when The Second City Saint struck him with a toolbox.
Former WWE Superstar reacts to CM Punk's actions after Bad Blood 2024 match
According to the same report, the officials behind the scenes were happy with both superstars. However, former WWE star Ryback was not pleased with CM Punk's actions inside the Hell in the Cell Match.
The former Intercontinental Champion called out Punk, with whom he has shared the ring during his run in the company. The Big Guy went off on The Best In The World for being reckless and hurting Drew McIntyre.
"I’ve never done this or anything close to this to any of my opponents. I would say whoever did this to him [CM Punk] is beyond reckless and very dangerous to work with," Ryback wrote.
It will be interesting to see how the Stamford-based promotion will book these two superstars leading into its move to Netflix and beyond.
