WWE altered plan for opening segment on last night's RAW - Reports
A segment was changed during the final episode of WWE RAW before Night of Champions last night in Pennsylvania.
Last night was the final edition of the red brand before Night of Champions this Saturday night in Saudi Arabia. The Bloodline is involved in a marquee match at the Premium Live Event on May 27. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will not be defending his title. Instead, he will team up with Solo Sikoa to challenge Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the Undisputed Tag Team Championships.
The Wiseman of The Bloodline, Paul Heyman, delivered a promo following Brock Lesnar's first brutal attack on Cody Rhodes last night. WWE RAW opened up with Lesnar "breaking" The American Nightmare's arm, and Heyman stated that he had nothing to do with his former client's actions. Heyman went on to promote the Undisputed Tag Team Championship match at WWE Night of Champions and claimed that The Tribal Chief will be bringing the titles back to The Bloodline.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Paul Heyman's promo was altered before the show. The report noted that Paul was originally supposed to have a segment where he sat in the front row, but ultimately the decision was made to have him cut a promo in the ring.
Vince Russo criticizes Paul Heyman's promo last night on WWE RAW
Former WWE writer Vince Russo did not enjoy Paul Heyman's promo last night to kick off RAW.
Heyman has firmly established himself as one of the best talkers the wrestling business has ever seen, but last night's promo wasn't a memorable one. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show, Vince Russo wondered why Heyman resorted to getting cheap heat by insulting fans. Russo also defended the city of Hershey and claimed it isn't anything like what The Wiseman described last night on RAW.
"Bro, for the genius Paul Heyman is, like seriously everybody, we're still going with cheap heat like, 'This hellhole knows as Hershey, Pennsylvania.' [...] I've been to Hershey, Pennsylvania many many times. I liked it. Why is Hershey, Pennsylvania a hellhole? Because you're a heel and you say it's a hellhole. That BS is so tired, bro." On paper, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa should be favorites against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at Night of Champions. However, things don't seem to be right within The Bloodline, and it could lead to another tough loss for the faction on May 27.
