WWE cut big match short on SmackDown after Cody Rhodes, Solo Sikoa, and Roman Reigns' segment - Reports

WWE had a huge episode of SmackDown this past week, which saw the return of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes battling Solo Sikoa inside a steel cage. However, the match directly after them was cut short for time, according to reports.

Roman Reigns returned on SmackDown after Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa in a Steel Cage match. The rest of The Bloodline was attacking The American Nightmare and was looking to injure him. However, Reigns' arrival cut that attack short. Now, thanks to the story, despite Rhodes wanting to be "done" with the Bloodline, he will team up with Reigns to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood. Directly after the Steel Cage match and the return, there was a match between Piper Niven and Michin (Mia Yim).

It's not noted whether the steel cage match and Reigns' segment went overtime, but by the time it was over, 40 minutes of the show was done. Other than a brief introduction to SmackDown by Triple H, there were no other segments before the Yim vs. Niven match. According to a report by Fightful Select, Mia Yim and Piper Niven's match had to be cut short for time. Originally, they were set to go for longer.

The rest of the show was also packed, and SmackDown even went overtime for a few minutes after the usual 2-hour mark, but it appears that due to the packed nature of the show, the match had to be cut short. It was over before it really got going.

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are now teaming up

Although neither Cody Rhodes nor Roman Reigns were eager to team up together, the threat and the attacks by The Bloodline seemed to push them together.

After initially turning down Nick Aldis' offer to team with Reigns, Cody Rhodes finally decided that their common enemy was a big enough threat for him to put his personal issues aside - at least for the moment.

It's expected that the two rivals will end up facing each other down the line as well.
