WWE has major expectations riding on tonight's historic episode of NXT - Reports

There are reportedly major expectations for tonight's edition of WWE NXT. This week's show will air live from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

According to a new report from WrestleVotes, the CW Network is expecting huge numbers for tonight's edition of NXT. It has been revealed that CW Network is expecting tonight's show to be the highest-rated episode of NXT since it debuted on the channel on October 1.

Tonight's edition of NXT will be going up against AEW Dynamite and the fallout from the presidential election in the United States.

"We’re told a source within The CW expects tonight’s ECW-themed NXT to be the highest-rated episode since the network debut last month, despite airing on a Wednesday night. Time will tell, as AEW presents a strong lineup on TBS, featuring Adam Cole vs. Malakai Black among other matches. And yet, with political coverage likely dominating tonight, both numbers will be an afterthought," wrote WrestleVotes.

ECW legend Bubba Ray Dudley is set to team up with NXT Champion Trick Williams to battle Ethan Page and Ridge Holland during tonight's show.

WWE legend Teddy Long suggests major star spend time in NXT before returning to action

WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long recently suggested that Goldberg should spend some time in NXT before returning to the ring.

It was announced over the weekend that Goldberg will be having his retirement match in 2025. The veteran appeared last month at Bad Blood and had a confrontation with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine show, Long suggested that Goldberg knock off the rust in NXT before having his retirement match in WWE next year.

"If they want to do something with him and Gunther, then let him go to NXT. Let him stay down there two or three weeks, get the rust off of him, work with Shawn and some of those guys down there that know what they're doing. You know what I mean? And get it right." [5:06-5:17]
