WWE potentially set up upcoming event to guarantee crowning of new Champion - Reports
WWE is headed into a new year, a new era for the RAW brand, and WrestleMania 41 Season. The company is in the process of crowning multiple new champions, and they are bringing a few events back. New information may provide insight into WWE loading up its lineups.
World Wrestling Entertainment has announced two upcoming Saturday Night's Main Events specials. The first SNME since 2008 will air live on December 14 from Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, NY. SNME XXXVII is taking place at the same place the inaugural event was held 39 years ago. Officials then announced its 38th Saturday Night's Main Event special for January 25 at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, TX. Like SNME 37, this event will be a two-hour simulcast, airing on NBC and streaming on Peacock at 8 pm.
WWE has loaded up the return of Saturday Night's Main Event with top matches and the tournament finals to crown the inaugural Women's United States Champion. On a recent Fightful Q&A, it was suggested that the company would set the tone with the SNME events to show they're worth watching.
Furthermore, it was implied that WWE would do some sort of major angle at SNME to help set that tone, especially since they're holding a second special one week before the Royal Rumble. Officials have already made it to where a new champion is guaranteed to be crowned as a way to solidify the return of the Saturday Night's Main Event specials.
