WWE reportedly considering popular babyface to challenge Cody Rhodes at Bash in Berlin

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes could have a surprising opponent at Bash in Berlin on August 31. It has already been announced that Gunther will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton at the Premium Live Event at the end of the month.

According to Ibou of WrestlePurists, the plan is for The American Nightmare to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin. The Prizefighter has been aligned with Cody Rhodes in recent months during his rivalry against the new version of The Bloodline.

Both Owens and Orton made an appearance during the main event of WWE SummerSlam to fight off The Bloodline as they attempted to help Solo Sikoa defeat Cody Rhodes in the main event. Cody Rhodes was able to retain his title after Roman Reigns returned and attacked Solo Sikoa.

Rhodes captured the Undisputed WWE Championship from Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania XL. The Head of the Table is scheduled to appear on SmackDown tonight following his return at SummerSlam.

WWE legend Hulk Hogan makes bold prediction about Cody Rhodes' title reign

Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan recently suggested that Cody Rhodes could be the Undisputed WWE Champion for a long time.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter last month, The Hulkster commented on Rhodes as champion. He praised the 39-year-old and noted that he deserves to be at the top of the company. Hogan added that Rhodes' title reign may have some longevity, and the SmackDown star could be on the road to greatness.

"I think Cody has worked real, real hard to niche out for himself. I think he deserves to be exactly where he's at. He's cool, calm, and collected, very methodical, and I think he's got some serious, serious longevity. I love his work. I love his work. He's doing a really great job up there, and I've seen some really good stuff with him and Seth [Rollins], some really believable stuff, and it looks like he's on to greatness." [4:23 – 4:55]
