WWE reportedly keeping talent in the dark about major announcement on RAW
WWE is reportedly keeping talent in the dark regarding a major announcement ahead of this week's edition of RAW. Tomorrow night's edition of the red brand will air live from Grand Rapids, Michigan.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis introduced the Women's United States Championship this past Friday night on the blue brand. According to a new report from Fightful Select, female talent did not know about the introduction of the Women's United States Championship until the day it was revealed.
The report also disclosed that talent are unaware if a matching title will be announced on RAW, or if the company will be holding a tournament to crown the inaugural Women's United States Champion. Sources told Fightful that talent previously thought the title would be introduced in December, or next year in January.
Liv Morgan is currently the reigning Women's World Heavyweight Champion and captured the Women's Crown Jewel Championship by defeating Nia Jax at the premium live event in Saudi Arabia earlier this month. Nia Jax is the reigning WWE Women's Champion on SmackDown.
Bill Apter claims another title could be introduced on WWE RAW
Wrestling veteran Bill Apter believes that another title could be introduced on WWE RAW after the Women's United States Championship was announced on SmackDown.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk show, Apter suggested that a Women's Intercontinental Championship could be introduced on RAW next year. He noted that there may be too many titles in the company and it could lead to conflict between Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis on WWE television.
"I think if they do that, it'll be next year. I think it would be too much. Although you could have both General Managers saying, 'Oh no, my United States Title is more important. My Intercontinental Title is more important.' No, I think they are gonna wait a while before they do that."

Chelsea Green hilariously claimed that the Women's United States Championship should be given to her after the title was announced. It will be fascinating to see what the promotion has planned for the title in the weeks ahead.
