WWE seemingly scraps plans for major Goldberg feud - Reports
There has been an update on a major feud involving WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. The legend made a surprise appearance during Bad Blood earlier this year.
The veteran hopped over the barricade to confront World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at the premium live event in October. However, security intervened before the two stars were able to trade blows.
According to a new report from Viper of PW Nexus, the company may have moved on from having Goldberg face Gunther next year. The 57-year-old will return to the company next year for a retirement match.
“Goldberg is set to return to the WWE in the early stages of 2025. It appears he will return to wrestle “one or two” matches before riding off into the sunset once and for all. Originally, WWE was interested in a Goldberg vs. Gunther match. They may have moved away from that idea now.” [H/T: Ringside News]
Gunther will be in action this weekend at Saturday Night's Main Event. The Ring General will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat Match against Finn Balor and Damian Priest.
Bill Apter suggests WWE legend Goldberg could make an appearance this weekend
Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently predicted that Goldberg could make an appearance at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted show, Apter stated that several stars of the past could make an appearance at Saturday Night's Main Event this weekend. He noted that he expected Jimmy Hart would be there and suggested that Hulk Hogan or Goldberg could make an appearance at the show this Saturday night.
"I think Jimmy Hart's gonna be there, that's for sure. And I think they are gonna have a whole array of talent you know, sitting in the seats, rooting on... Hogan might be there actually. Goldberg might show up there, just audience people." [From 28:07 to 28:27]

Goldberg has not competed in a match since his loss to Roman Reigns at WWE Elimination Chamber 2022. It will be fascinating to see who the veteran has his retirement match against if the company has opted not to have it be against Gunther.
