WWE set to make major changes to SummerSlam card - Reports

WWE Superstars are gearing up for the 37th annual SummerSlam Premium Live Event in less than five days. The company has booked most of its champions for the big event and one major non-title rivalry. The word from backstage is that changes could be made soon.

SummerSlam is scheduled for Saturday at Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. A first-look photo and video of the spectacular set were revealed today. Seven matches are currently confirmed for the show going into Friday's go-home SmackDown, down from the nine-match card in 2023, the eight matches booked in 2022 and 2020, and the 11 in 2021.

The WWE Universe has speculated on new matches being added to Saturday's lineup. Now, a new report from Fightful Select notes that additional SummerSlam bouts may be announced in the next few days. It was noted that some of the previously announced matches could also be altered.

It was noted that the SummerSlam card currently features seven matches, all singles bouts, with no additional stipulations besides the Special Guest Referee in CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre.

Sources were unclear on which match could be changed or what sort of stipulation is being considered. A match on the three-hour pre-show is also possible.
