WWE star recently taken off TV could be fired from the company - Reports
A WWE star was recently taken off TV and his future with the company remains uncertain. Meanwhile, a new report has indicated that the promotion may not be pleased with Drew Gulak after a serious allegation against him.
Ronda Rousey accused Drew Gulak of grabbing the drawstrings of her sweatpants backstage at an event while he was walking past the former WWE Women's Champion. Since then, Gulak has been missing from television and the matter is being investigated by the company.
On Twitter, Drew Gulak responded to the accusations from Rousey, claiming he accidentally grabbed the drawstrings of her sweatpants while offering a handshake. The WWE star added that he apologized to The Rowdy One immediately after the incident occurred.
Dave Meltzer provided a potential update on the situation on the Wrestling Observer Radio. He reported that the investigation had been inconclusive so far but people backstage seemingly believed the controversy brought bad publicity to the Triple H-led company.
Meltzer further mentioned that things were not looking good for the 36-year-old and he might be released from his contract.
“What I was told was that the witnesses were not conclusive. It was one person’s word against the other, but Gulak was bad publicity, so he got whacked. I don’t know that he’s been fired, but when I ask, it’s like, if he hasn’t been he probably will be. It’s not looking good for him, let’s put it that way."
Drew Gulak was written off WWE TV this week
World Wrestling Entertainment hasn't wasted time removing Drew Gulak from its programming after Ronda Rousey accused him of inappropriate conduct.
Gulak was involved in a storyline in NXT but was taken off TV. The company explained his sudden disappearance on this week's episode. Rather than just ignoring his exclusion from the angle, they explained that the No Quarter Catch Crew, which previously included Gulak, hired the D'Angelo family to 'take care of him.' However, the former champion's name wasn't mentioned on the show.
Charlie Dempsey himself implied that he had sanctioned the hit and said the D'Angelo family should be happy for taking care of the trash. The angle essentially wrote Gulak off TV and his future is now up in the air.
If a recent report is accurate, Drew Gulak may never return to television after the allegations.
