WWE Rumors: Former WWE pay-per-view Bad Blood is not returning

What’s the story?

A rumour circulated over a week ago saying an old WWE pay-per-view called Bad Blood would be returning. WrestleZone is now reporting that that’s not going to be the case.

In case you didn’t know...

WWE has done a few things recently to bring back the form of nostalgia that older fans can appreciate and can return to watching the product for.

First, Mick Foley was brought back as a primary character on television. As Mankind, he was a fixture of the Attitude era of the WWE.

World Wrestling Entertainment is doing it the right way by just adding more realism into storylines. Breaking kayfabe is now a usual instance, instead of a rarity. While blood hasn’t returned in its full-force, which it never will, the Bad Blood pay-per-view would’ve been a good way to pay homage to its former shows.

The heart of the matter

Inside the WrestleZone report, it was noted that the rumour was false the entire time. This is what they had to say:

“We have been informed that those rumors are untrue, and the company has no currently scheduled plans to return to Hartford for a PPV event.”

What’s next?

Hopefully, the earlier rumours of Bad Blood returning are true and the WWE announces the show soon.

It was for a Raw-exclusive pay-per-view in July, so they do have time to announce something. House shows are announced months in advance, but the minor pay-per-views are handled a bit differently.

Author’s Take

I’m all for the WWE bringing back pay-per-views with names like Bad Blood, but the truth of the matter is that nobody gets bloody on purpose anymore. I don’t condone that action, but the word “blood” is in the name.

If there isn’t blood, what would it be? Creative has gotten backlash before for themed pay-per-views as well.

It can take away the special feeling of that match. If one looks at the Hell in a Cell match and compares it to what it used to be, there’s no denying the loss of aura it has undergone.
