WWE Rumors: Kurt Angle to be revealed as the Raw General Manager tonight
What’s the story?
Last month, we reported a story that revealed that Kurt Angle would be appearing on the Monday Night Raw and SmackDown LIVE episodes after WrestleMania 33.
With one of the most exciting episodes of Raw just hours away, there is a General Manager vacancy that needs to be addressed. This could possibly be filled by Kurt Angle himself, although no official word has been put out about this as of yet.
In case you didn’t know...
There is definitely some history between Kurt Angle and the current Monday Night Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. In the year 2000, Angle would feud with Triple H as the result of a love triangle with Stephanie.
The heart of the matter...
The majority of the crowd that will be at the Amway Center in Orlando will be travellers who came for WrestleMania 33. That is why it is one of the most interesting crowds of the year. If Angle becomes the new General Manager, the place will erupt.

One example of the energetic crowd on the Raw after WrestleMania was when Vince McMahon started the show. Once his music stopped, the crowd kept singing along to Vince’s theme; which was one of the best moments of the night.
It is clear that the WWE is not going to do away with the authority figure angle anytime soon. It would make sense to address that void on a night that garners some of the highest Raw ratings of the year.
What’s next?
We don’t exactly know what’s next when it comes to tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw, but that’s the beauty of it. Anything can happen tonight and nothing is off limits.
Author’s take
Outside of Sting, Kurt Angle would be at the top of my list for a General Manager to replace Mick Foley. If you didn’t see his Hall Of Fame speech, go out of your way to do so. He did a great recap of the hilarious stunts he pulled throughout his career in the WWE.
I can only imagine the dynamic between Stephanie and Angle if he was to become Raw General Manager. Especially if they bring up the love triangle situation from 17 years ago.
On top of that, Angle has also been a serious leader when he was appointed to a similar position with Impact Wrestling a year or two ago. It’s a perfect fit, and we’re just hours away from finding out.
