WWE Rumours: James Ellsworth getting a Royal Rumble spot
James Ellsworth has been arguably one of the greatest enhancement talents in WWE history. Because of his unique look and his line “Any man with two hands has a fighting chance”, he gained instant popularity on the internet, being the subject of memes and several other jokes(something which he embraced and still does).
Vince McMahon seems to be quite pleased with him and is said to have taken a liking to him since then, he has made three more appearances on Smackdown Live, and in that time he has even gotten two up over WWE World Champion AJ Styles.
According to Ring Side News, there are rumours going around that Ellsworth is getting a spot in the 2017 Royal Rumble at the Alamodome. His t-shirt is now the third highest selling one in WWEShop.com, only behind Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens.
His t-shirt sales are even higher than Goldberg and franchise player Roman Reigns, which is a surprise to many. WWE usually push people with high selling merchandise, and it wouldn’t be surprising one bit to see Ellsworth back on WWE television.
This past week, Ellsworth had the biggest match of his life when he faced AJ Styles for the WWE World Championship. He had gotten a pinfall victory over Styles last week with the help of Dean Ambrose. This week, however, he did defeat Styles, but it was via disqualification.
He came extremely close at one point to beating the champion clean when he gave him a superkick which David Otunga termed as the “No chin music”. It is not known when he will return, but as said, with the rate at which his merchandise is selling. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him on very soon.
