WWE/TNA Rumours: WWE want to sign TNA Superstar Eli Drake
WWE have been on a well-publicised talent raiding spree in recent weeks, with rumours from all corners of the internet emerging regarding WWE keeping close tabs on various Ring of Honour Superstars.
Superstars such as The Young Bucks have so far been linked with a move to the company, but evidence of wrestlers actually making the move to WWE has been thin on the ground thus far, with many of Ring of Honour stars being contracted until 31st December.
However, the latest name to be connected with a switch to WWE is not a Ring of Honour talent at all, but a member of the TNA roster instead.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has stated that WWE officials are extremely interested in signing TNA superstar Eli Drake, whose real name is Shaun Ricker.
The only potential stumbling block so far, is that he is still under contract with TNA, and with TNA’s well-publicised struggles off late, it is unlikely that they are going to want any wrestlers of their roster jumping ship.

Back in May, TNA owner Dixie Carter had announced that Drake had been signed to a new contract, and even though the length was not revealed, it is unlikely that WWE will be able to sign Drake ‘on the cheap.’
If this comes to fruition and Drake does become a WWE Superstar, it will not be the first time that he would have wrestled for the company. He wrestled dark matches in 2006 and 2008, impressing enough to be offered a developmental contract with the WWE Performance Centre in May 2013.
He then debuted in WWE’s developmental company NXT as ‘Slade Randall’ later that year, defeating Yoshi Tatsu in a dark match during the October tapings. He was released from his contract in August of 2014.
