Santino Marella's return was already on the cards

If some of the backstage rumours are to be believed, WWE Superstar Santino Marella‘s return to RAW this week was already planned in advance.

The WWE officials wanted Santino to return in front of his home crowd so that he could receive a rousing reception. Even though he is billed to be hailing from Italy, Santino is actually from in and around Toronto.

He returned to RAW and faced the ‘Very European’ Antonio Cesaro. Santino was impressive on the night performing some of his trademark moves. He then picked up the win after countering Cesaro’s offence and pinning him in quick time.
