Seth Rollins to shock the world, absent Bloodline star returning? - 4 WWE names who could help CM Punk at SummerSlam
There are many personal feuds in WWE right now. The ongoing storyline between Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, and Dominik Mysterio is extremely personal. The issues between Logan Paul and LA Knight are also quite heated.
Still, of all the feuds currently taking place in wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment in particular, the most intense and hate-filled may be on RAW. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have been at each other's throats essentially since Punk returned to the promotion last November.
In terms of intensity, things have gotten quite violent. Drew McIntyre has assaulted The Straight Edge Superstar, even once leaving Punk a bloody mess. Due to his size advantage, youth advantage, and overall aggressiveness, there is a real chance the same could occur if Punk doesn't have help.
This article will take a look at four names who could potentially have The Voice of the Voiceless' back at SummerSlam. This includes a family member, a popular RAW star not on the show, and others.
Below are four WWE names who could help CM Punk at SummerSlam.
#4. Seth Rollins could shock WWE fans and help Punk
Seth Rollins is one of the top stars in WWE today and has been for quite some time. He broke through in the promotion as part of The Shield and has gone on to become a multi-time world champion and a major show headliner.
The Visionary will be involved in the Punk-McIntyre match. Seth is set to be the special guest referee at WWE SummerSlam, which is interesting since both Drew and Punk hate his guts. Despite that, Rollins could play a pivotal role in the match.
Drew will undoubtedly get violent and probably try to break the rules. While Seth may despise The Voice of the Voiceless, if Drew gets out of line, The Visionary could put McIntyre down. He may not do so specifically to help Punk, but that could be what happens anyway.
#3. AJ Lee could return and help her husband
AJ Lee was one of the biggest stars in women's wrestling before everything changed via the Women's Evolution movement. She held gold in WWE and was even the RAW General Manager at one point before retiring in 2015.
Of everyone on this list, AJ Lee has the closest ties to CM Punk. Lee is married to The Straight Edge Superstar, and they have been together for over a decade. Interestingly, Drew McIntyre has used this to taunt Punk on WWE Monday Night RAW.
Lee is a tough woman and someone who doesn't respond kindly to bullies. The former champion could make her return by showing up and helping Punk defeat The Scottish Warrior. A distraction, passing Punk a weapon, or even attacking Drew are three options on the table for AJ Lee at SummerSlam.
#2. Jey Uso isn't booked for the big show
Jey Uso is one of the most popular and beloved names in all of pro wrestling. He was part of The Usos, the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions in company history. Since last year, he has broken out as a singles competitor.
'Main Event' Jey Uso doesn't have many ties to CM Punk. He did show excitement over Punk's return to WWE, which was rare when most seemed to hate the returning name. Beyond that, however, they don't cross paths too often.
Still, Jey Uso could stick by Punk at Summerslam. Jey and Drew McIntyre are long-time rivals thanks to The Bloodline saga. Beyond that, Uso isn't otherwise booked at the big show. This could get the former tag team champion on the card.
#1. Paul Heyman could return after being assaulted by The Bloodline
Paul Heyman and CM Punk go back a long way. It was Heyman who first saw something in The Straight Edge Superstar upon Punk joining WWE. From there, they worked together on the ECW brand and then later across RAW and SmackDown.
Unfortunately, Heyman has been in some trouble lately. Not long after asking CM Punk to get him out of The Bloodline, the group viciously attacked the manager. Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa decimated the veteran, and he has been absent ever since.
The absent star could return at SummerSlam, however. Instead of arriving to confront The Bloodline, he could instead help Punk against McIntyre. From there, Heyman could move to Monday Night RAW and be Punk's manager once again.
