Seth Rollins to turn heel & form new alliance with former WWE World Heavyweight Champion? Potential twist explored
CM Punk kicked off this week’s Monday Night RAW with his electric promo about Seth Rollins, who started a much-awaited feud with him upon his return to the red brand two weeks ago after his spectacular win at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. Also, tonight's show saw a subtle hint that might lead to Rollins forming a new alliance in the coming weeks.
The Best in the World mocked Seth Rollins' theme song and his iconic laugh. Punk then reacted to the allegation Rollins made about him ghosting The Visionary and everybody else when he left the promotion. The Voice of the Voiceless said that’s a fact he won’t deny.
However, he voiced that he is back to look ahead, not backward, and that The Visionary is not part of his current objectives. Yet, he accepted that they were on a collision course, and he was ready to give Seth Rollins the wrestling lesson he had asked for free when he was sixteen. After the shots were fired, Rollins came out and told Punk that he had more WrestleMania main events than Punk would ever have in his career. Both men got into a fistfight in the crowd before security personnel rushed out to separate them.
Following his heated altercation with Punk, Seth Rollins was heading back to his locker room when Drew McIntyre, who has been gunning for members of OG Bloodline, stopped and told Rollins that they were the only ones not fooled by Reigns’ disguise. In response, The Visionary told The Scottish Warrior that he is friends with Jey and Sami and not with him because friendships are made on respect, which he shares with Zayn and Uso, unlike him.
In a sensational twist, we may see Rollins accepting the friendship offer, as they share common interests: they hate CM Punk and are also not 'fooled' by Roman Reigns. In the coming weeks, Rollins could finally turn heel and form a “The Shield”-like faction with former World Heavyweight Champion Drew McIntyre and destroy Reigns and Punk together.
WWE officially books a massive bout for Seth Rollins on RAW
Seth Rollins and CM Punk’s is long due, as they were originally slated to lock horns this year at WrestleMania XL. However, the Stamford-based promotion had to switch plans momentarily after Punk sustained a real-life injury at Royal Rumble 2024.
The latest episode of Monday Night RAW saw another heated altercation between archrivals. This time, security personnel separated the stars, who were throwing massive strikes at one another with the intention of knocking the other out.
Amid the brawl, General Manager Adam Pearce officially announced a singles match between Rollins and Punk for RAW's season premiere on Netflix on January 6, 2025. It will be interesting to see what plans Triple H-led creative has in store for this much-awaited saga in the coming weeks.
