Shawn Michaels to bring back a retired WWE championship due to one major reason? Potential hints explored
WWE has introduced several championships recently, primarily for female athletes. It is 2024 and soon to be 2025, and as a result, Triple H and company officials are pushing for the women's divisions to be on par with the men's.
To continue that theme, there is a chance Shawn Michaels will bring back a retired set of titles to WWE soon. More specifically, he could reintroduce the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships based on recent events on NXT.
The most obvious sign that the coveted titles could soon be returning is the recent appearances of not one, but two main roster teams on NXT. Both Kayden Carter and Katana Chance, along with the duo of The Unholy Union, have been on the silver and black brand in recent weeks.
The Unholy Union's Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn defeated Fatal Influence's Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx on WWE NXT this week. Meanwhile, Katana and Kayden will be part of a Triple Threat Women's Tag Team Match next Tuesday.
The influx of teams seems to point to a renewed focus on the women's tag team scene. This could then open up the opportunity for the belts to be brought back for the first time in several years.
WWE NXT has a wealth of talent who could fill out the division
It isn't strictly main roster talent that makes it appear as if the coveted belts are on the way. There are several teams and stables on WWE NXT, some of which are full-time and some of which are part-time, that could help fill out a division.
For example, there's the aforementioned Fatal Influence stable. Meanwhile, another stable has been formed recently with the returning Shotzi, Gigi Dolin, and Tatum Paxley. The trio are extremely likable and could be stars of a new tag division.
Other full-time teams include The Meta-Four and the up-and-coming duo of Carlee Bright and Kendal Grey. Additionally, Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez are a duo, as are Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer.
That wealth of talent mixed with the newly forged duos of Zaria & Sol Ruca and Layla Diggs & Tyra Mae Steele and it becomes abundantly clear that the silver and black brand is loaded with formidable duos.
With around 10 tag teams or groups mentioned throughout this article and still another dozen or two more women without a major singles push, NXT would have no trouble welcoming the titles back. Is that Shawn Michaels' plan? For now, fans will have to wait to find out.
