SK's take on Chris Jericho being teased to make an appearance for WWE's biggest rivals
The writing has been on the wall for Chris Jericho to make an Impact Wrestling debut for some time now, and the latest episode of Impact, titled ReDefined, has certainly upped for the promotion for Y2J to the max!
In fact, fans at the arena were chanting "We want Jericho" something that Impact Wrestling actually acknowledged on Twitter, and they even went as far as to literally tag Jericho in it as well.
To make matters more interesting, they went and did it again a little later on, but this time with video of the fans chanting for Jericho to appear and Josh Matthews reacting to it.
This seems to be the latest in a long line of teases that the lifelong WWE loyalist could be prepared to make an appearance for who many consider to be their biggest rivals. It's only if you don't think Impact are WWE's biggest competition, then you must think it's NJPW and Jericho appeared there too.
It's a well known fact that Jericho and the guys running Impact are friends, but even just a week ago, Jericho was talking to Wrestling Perspective Podcast and mentioned that he was open to doing new things.
"When someone says 'would you ever go to IMPACT? Would you ever go to Ring Of Honor? Would you ever go here there or wherever?' Yeah sure, why not? If its creatively satisfying, if it's something that I can really sink my teeth into, something that I can really enjoy, then why wouldn't I give it a try"
Jericho went on to add that he is still loyal to the WWE, but given that independant wrestling is flourishing that he would be a fool to miss out on the opportunity to broaden his horizons due to that loyalty.
At this point, I've done everything I could ever do in wrestling. I have a loyalty to WWE but not a death wish with them or anything like that where by hook or by crook I have to be with the WWE. I think part of the fun of what's going on right now in the business is there's a real resurgence with independent wrestling and independent companies and it really gives the WWE a real kick in the ass when people go other places.
Jericho is certainly doing just that, as he's about to embark on his own wrestling promotion taking place on a cruise, Chris Jericho's Rock 'N' Wrestling Rager at Sea, which will feature Superstars from Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
The reason why Impact would be a bigger deal than New Japan Pro Wrestling is because it would be on North American soil and directly compete with WWE in a way that Jericho could avoid with wrestling in Japan. However, the fact that the official Impact Twitter is tagging him makes it seem like it's going to happen!
