SK's take on Finn Balor possibly facing John Cena at WrestleMania

The se
Balor could seek revenge on John Cena at WrestleMania

With the Royal Rumble out of the way, we're well and truly on the road to WrestleMania and, with Elimination Chamber just around the corner, the card for the grandest stage of them all will no doubt start to take shape very soon.

Well, two men whose opponents aren't yet known could, in fact, be very simple, yet incredible, match for Mania -- and WWE have been planting the seeds for this feud.

One man has been standing in the way of Finn Balor getting his long-awaited rematch at the WWE Universal Championship that the inaugural champion never lost, but I don't blame you if you can't see him.

Before we get into why, you're probably reading this and thinking, "But John Cena will be facing Elias at WrestleMania," or you may even think that The Undertaker may yet make his return to set up the dream match that's been rumoured for years.

The Undertaker match seems to have taken on a life of its own over the past three years in particular, but has never quite materialised. While a mock poster has made the rounds, it's still not yet known whether The Undertaker will ever return to the ring.

So, the Elias story does seem the most likely scenario. The 16-time World Champion and The Drifter have had their differences over the past few weeks, with the most recent clash seeing Elias pin John Cena to win the privilege of being the last of the six entrants to enter the Chamber.

It has also emerged recently that Cena and Elias will clash at Madison Square Garden in a match that will now see Nikki Bella team up with her soon-to-be husband against Elias and his MMC partner Bayley.

Finn Balor, meanwhile, is a little harder to judge -- with one scenario being that he may face off against The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship, although that is purely speculative right now.

Now, we should say that John Cena, Elias, Miz or even Finn Balor could still be in with a shout of headlining WrestleMania.

One win in the Elimination Chamber could see them named number one contender for Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship in New Orleans -- although Finn Balor will need to overcome another hurdle to get there in the second chance Fatal 4-Way on Raw this week and Roman Reigns still seems like the favourite to pick up the W in the Chamber.

The reason Finn Balor has an extra match in his way? John Cena. The pair clashed in the main event of Raw two weeks ago for a spot in the Chamber, with much of the WWE Universe thinking the match would tip in Balor's favour -- only for Big Match John to pull out the win!

Finn Balor, you'll remember, was the first ever Universal Champion but had to relinquish due to injury. While it seemed like he was struggling to get back up to main event level, an immense Royal Rumble showing that saw him last just under an hour and eliminate four people almost saw him book his spot at WrestleMania last month - until he was eliminated by... yep, you guessed it, John Cena.

John Cena has already faced off against one former Bullet Club leader in the past, even with Gallows and Anderson by his side, in AJ Styles -- may be the leader of Balor Club could be the man to get the big match against Big Match John this year.

Who knows, we may even see the return of the Demon to seek revenge on John Cena who, at the Elimination Chamber, could stop Finn Balor from fighting for the WWE Universal Championship that he never lost, for a third time, if he eliminates him.
