SK's Take on terms of Brock Lesnar's new contract
Brock Lesnar's WWE contract came to an end earlier this month following his WrestleMania match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, which was why many fans believed that Reigns would be winning The Universal Championship.
Lesnar retained and then reportedly went on to sign a new WWE contract which is why he is set to face Reigns once again next Friday night in Saudi Arabia as part of the Greatest Royal Rumble.
There have been many rumors circulating about Lesnar's contract with the most recent stating that The Beast has signed a deal that sees him only paid per appearance, which means that WWE has no hold over him so he is able to return to WWE at will.
This would mean that Lesnar's threats to return to WWE will be followed through on since he isn't actually contracted to WWE right now, he would be seen as a free agent who can work for both WWE and UFC and then be paid per appearance.
If this is true then it means that Lesnar's feud with Bobby Lashley that has been rumored in recent weeks could still be a rivalry that the company is looking at towards the tail end of the year, since his match with Reigns next week is believed to be his last WWE match for a while.
This contract also means that there is no fixed term, so Lesnar can take as long as he needs away from the company and then return when he actually wants to. This could make WWE reluctant to put another Championship on Lesnar since he would have nothing actually tying him to the company and forcing him to reappear, but it also means that he is free to work for UFC on as many matches as Dana White wants to use him for.
This is the best contract that Lesnar could have possibly signed when it comes to making all three parties happy, but this is just pure speculation at this point. These terms seem as though they would definitely be appealing to the current Universal Champion in his current position with both WWE and UFC interested in working with him in the future.
It is unknown as to how this will affect Paul Heyman and when he can work alongside Brock. It also makes it much more likely for Lesnar to be dropping the Championship over to Reigns next week as part of the Greatest Rumble so that he can return to the UFC.
