SK's take on an upcoming episode of NXT potentially airing live
What's the story?
The next NXT tapings will not occur from Full Sail until next week, meaning there is not a taping yet for the November 29th edition of NXT. Due to this very fact, there is a possibility that Triple H could experiment with a live edition of NXT next week.
In case you didn't know...
NXT was originally a competition show, but in June 2012 it evolved as the flagship television show for the developmental talent of WWE. Since then it has evolved into its own brand that has exponentially grown in popularity.
The heart of the matter
This is the same strategy that Impact Wrestling does for their tapings. The first show in that group of episodes they record airs on POP TV "close" to live with about a 30-minute difference from when the action occurs to when it airs on the television.
The timing of Thanksgiving coming up the week after Takeover is a potential reason why they're not taping until next Wednesday. It's entirely possible that Triple H is trying something new and having NXT air live more often.
NXT typically tapes four shows in a row, and you can tell the crowd is a little worn out by the final episode of NXT on those tapings. The shift to move to a live model more often gives the shows a more excited crowd, but it also gives them the flexibility to potentially take the weekly show on the road as well.
What's next?
Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for more information on next week's edition of NXT as we get closer to the tapings.
This week's edition will be a recap from NXT Takeover: WarGames plus two matches that took place before the main Takeover card (Ruby Riot v. Sonya Deville and Johnny Gargano v. Pete Dunne for the WWE United Kingdom Championship).
Author's take
If it is not too much of a cost burden on the budget for NXT, I am all for live episodes of NXT television. It's a very exciting brand that has a proven track record with all of their Takeover live events. This could be the next step in the evolution of the brand.
