SK Take of Brock Lesnar's New Contract Being Temporary

The Beast Conquered Roman Reigns

The sight of Brock Lesnar pinning Roman Reigns' shoulders to the mat at WrestleMania 34 was something no one expected to see.

Reigns being built up for three years with three consecutive WrestleMania main events, leading to him getting squashed by Lesnar, seemed like a bad joke until last night.

However, the reason for Lesnar's victory and Reigns' embarrassment in New Orleans, Louisiana was cleared up, when WWE released news that Lesnar and Reigns would fight for the Universal Championship in a Steel Cage Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble later this month.

Lesnar re-signing with WWE, was also announced along with the Championship match, but the tenure of 'The Beast Incarnate's' deal with WWE may not last too long.

Jeremy Botter of Bleacher Report and CNN, went to Twitter to report that this new deal is merely an extension that will run its course after the Greatest Royal Rumble on Friday, April 27.

However, the biggest news coming out of that Twitter thread was that Lesnar has his mind focused on returning to the UFC, and that this could potentially be a two-appearance deal.

The main reason for the short deal was the idea, that Lesnar is fully committed to returning to the UFC and would want to focus more of his attention on training for the return.

This information from Botter would coincide with Dana White's comments regarding Lesnar's expected return.

With all the information at hand, it would be safe to assume that Lesnar's new deal being temporary, would be correct.

Lesnar has been with the WWE for the past seven years, and started to show interest in a potential return to MMA back in 2015, when he was training to return to UFC after WrestleMania 31. His desire to return reared its head in 2016 when he faced Mark Hunt at UFC 200.

With another big paycheck coming and months of time left to prepare for a UFC return in 2019, it makes sense that Lesnar would re-sign on a temporary basis.

Now the only question is, how long will it be before Reigns wins the belt and, what will be the last appearance of 'The Beast Incarnate' on WWE programming?
