SmackDown Live moves to Fox very soon, and WWE is leaving no stone unturned in a bid to deliver memorable episodes each week. The blue brand offered another thrilling show this week, with the event springing some surprises.
The Fiend was the highlight on RAW this week, but it was Brock Lesnar taking the spotlight on SmackDown Live, as the Beast Incarnate returned for the first time since losing to Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. The Bludgeon Brothers meanwhile continued their domination, decimating both Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan.
Sasha Banks also locked horns with Charlotte Flair, while Chad Gable ruined the celebration of the new King of the Ring, Baron Corbin.
In this article, we discuss three things WWE made clear on SmackDown Live this week.
#3 Chad Gable and Baron Corbin will have a feud
Baron Corbin had a memorable night on RAW, as he became King of the Ring. Corbin defeated Chad Gable to win the crown this year, and King Corbin was coronated on the blue brand this week, but the party was ruined by Gable.
The King called Gable out and made fun of his King of the Ring 2019 final opponent's height. Gable got furious, and he destroyed the throne, scepter, robe, and crown. Gable and Corbin will have a feud.
It was an outstanding tournament for Gable, and he could offer an exciting rivalry with the new King of the Ring. Given the in-ring talent of Gable, he deserves more recognition from the company. We are just a few weeks away from Hell in a Cell, therefore the two men might square off at the PPV.
#2 Brock Lesnar will win the WWE Championship
Kofi Kingston overcame a huge obstacle at Clash of Champions by defeating Randy Orton. The Viper looked like a legit threat but he failed to end KofiMania, however, the WWE Champion already has a new challenger, as Brock Lesnar showed up on SmackDown Live this week.
Along with Paul Heyman, Lesnar marched to the ring, confronting the WWE Champion. The advocate of the Beast announced that Lesnar wants to challenge Kingston on the first SmackDown Live episode on Fox. As a fighting champion, Kingston didn't back down from the challenge and he agreed to face Lesnar. Subsequently, Lesnar delivered a vicious F-5, sending a strong message.
After losing the Universal Championship, the Beast has come back to hunt the most coveted prize on the blue brand, and Kingston will face his biggest challenge to date. Lesnar is certainly a nightmare for any Superstar, and Kingston will have an impossible task next month.
Unless Kingston manages to shock everyone, he is likely to lose the WWE Title on SmackDown's Fox debut. Lesnar is the most marketable name in WWE, and he could be the WWE Champion when SmackDown Live moves to Fox.
