Smackdown Live won the 2018 Superstar Shakeup and it wasn't even close
The 2018 WWE Superstar Shakeup is in the books, and while nothing will change the fact that RAW is the A show, at least in Vince McMahon's eyes, it is clear that Smackdown won this year hands down.
Last year at the Superstar Shakeup, Smackdown got absolutely gutted, losing all of their hot acts, such as The Miz, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose and Alexa Bliss. While they did get Kevin Owens, Charlotte Flair, and the New Day, it was obvious that they lost more than they gained.
This year, however, was the complete opposite, as Smackdown got all of RAW's hot acts, outside of Braun Strowman. Smackdown received Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, Asuka, The Bar, and The Miz. Smackdown didn't lose too much, as the only one that sticks out to me is Bobby Roode, who really wasn't doing much on Smackdown anyway.
While RAW's midcard did get more additions with the likes of Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre, as well as guys like Zack Ryder, Mojo Rawley, and Chad Gable, that is fine since RAW is three hours and needs to fill the time.
Smackdown's Women's Division got better with the addition of Asuka and only lost Natalya. The Riott Squad and Absolution's Sonya DeVille and Mandy Rose essentially just switched brands.
The big difference is the main event scene. While RAW's main event scene is fine with the addition of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, adding on to what they already have with Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, and company. Smackdown's main event scene is a pure wrestling fans scene, as now you have about eight guys that are WWE Championship caliber in AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, The Miz, and to a lesser extent Big Cass, and he can be replaced with someone like the latest NXT call-up Andrade "CIen" Almas.
Now, none of this really matter unless the writing backs it up, and it is well known that Smackdown's writing has been sketchy over the past year, but if the writing is there and everything goes right, then it will just prove the general consensus is right, and that is that Smackdown won the Superstar Shakeup of 2018.
