Sportskeeda's 10 best WWE Superstars of 2024
WWE has had an incredible 2024. The promotion has been at another level in terms of business, reaching financial highs the company has never hit before. Additionally, attendance and general fan interest have been up over the last few years compared to any time since The Attitude Era.
The sports entertainment juggernaut is loaded with incredibly talented performers who helped the promotion reach these incredible heights. With dozens of male and female performers across all three brands, the company has the very best wrestlers in the world.
The question is, of these many fantastic performers, who are the best of the best? This article will look at the 10 best superstars of 2024 based on their spot in the company, match quality, storylines, and promos. Who was the best?
Below are Sportskeeda's 10 best WWE Superstars of 2024
#10. Jey Uso is incredibly over
Jey Uso is a WWE veteran who has been with the company since 2010. As one half of The Usos, he was part of what many believe to be the greatest tag team ever. However, The YEET Master split from his twin brother Jimmy Uso and The Bloodline in 2023 and went on to become a major singles star on RAW.
In 2024, Jey Uso managed to truly break out as a singles star. He had his first singles match at WrestleMania when he faced Jimmy Uso. While the match didn't deliver how many hoped, it was still a huge milestone. Uso also won the prized Intercontinental Title.
While there may be some wrestlers not on this list who deliver more in certain aspects than Jey, none are more over. He is the most popular wrestler not to be a former world champion in WWE today, and for good reason. Uso is a star.
#9. Bianca Belair helped elevate the women's tag team division to new heights
Bianca Belair is one of the gifted athletes in WWE. She is a multi-time world champion, winning gold on Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown. She is also a former WrestleMania main eventer.
While The EST hasn't been on top in the singles division throughout much of 2024, unlike in prior years, she was still doing something extremely important: elevating the WWE Women's Tag Team Title.
Be it alongside Jade Cargill or Naomi, Bianca and other women in the division made the title more relevant in 2024 than ever before. The belts finally mattered, and Belair played a pivotal role, bringing star power and much-needed consistency to the division.
#8. IYO SKY is arguably the best in-ring worker in the women's division
IYO SKY is one of the best wrestlers in the world, regardless of gender or company. She is a former world champion in WWE and NXT Women's Champion. She is also a multi-time tag team champion. Above all else, her in-ring skills are unmatched, which was obvious in 2024.
The Genius of the Sky held the WWE Women's Title to begin the year and was in one of the best matches at WrestleMania against Bayley. Frankly, she has been, leaps and bounds, the best in-ring performer of any female star on the main roster, which is saying a lot given the high-quality performers the company has.
#7. Drew McIntyre has proven himself to be a consistently entertaining performer
Drew McIntyre has had quite the run in WWE over the past year or so. In the eyes of many fans, the talented McIntyre was hopelessly stale under Vince McMahon. However, in the Triple H-led regime, he has changed.
The Scottish Warrior has been one of the most consistently entertaining performers in 2024. Whether in the ring or on the microphone, he hangs with the very best. One of the highlights of McIntyre's 2024 has been his storyline with CM Punk, which many consider one of the best feuds of the year.
The Scotsman's rivalry with The Second City Saint, which started back in January 2024, shows how much talent and how good the writing has been over the past year.
#6. CM Punk overachieved despite being injured
Ranking just ahead of Drew McIntyre is CM Punk. The Voice of the Voiceless returned to WWE towards the end of 2023 and went on to have a banner year in 2024. He had arguably the greatest Hell in a Cell Match ever with Drew McIntyre and offered numerous fantastic promos.
This is all the more impressive, given how CM Punk's year started. His first televised match back in WWE was in the Men's Royal Rumble Match. Sadly, Punk was injured in the bout and would remain out of action from January until August.
Despite a limited schedule and battling an injury, Punk still overachieved and ultimately had what could be called a banner year for The Second City Saint.
#5. Roman Reigns remains a top star in WWE despite his limited schedule
Speaking of limited schedules, Roman Reigns comes in at number five on this list. While that may be controversial, this WWE schedule is he only thing holding Roman back from being higher
The Original Tribal Chief had just six matches in 2024. Of those six, only one was a singles bout. Granted, the bout was with Cody Rhodes, and it was incredible, but he has not done that much in the ring, especially outside of The Bloodline.
Despite rarely appearing, Roman Reigns has an incredible aura, and his storytelling is off the charts. While his WWE schedule may leave a lot to be desired, it speaks volumes of his talent and aura that the OTC ranks so highly despite being around so little.
#4. Liv Morgan had a fantastic year
Liv Morgan was an upper mid-card star in WWE before 2024. She was a former SmackDown Women's Champion, Women's Tag Team Champion, and Women's Money in the Bank briefcase winner.
Still, Liv truly became a top star in 2024. Her heel turn and feud with Rhea Ripley have elevated Morgan to a level she had never been before. The Miracle Kid became the Women's World Champion at King and Queen of the Ring by defeating Becky Lynch. Since then, she has defended the title multiple times.
However, the only thing truly holding Liv back is a lack of stand-out singles matches at premium live events. Her TV bouts with IYO SKY and Zelina Vega certainly delivered, but her PLE bouts tended to underwhelm, typically due to interference from Dominik Mysterio.
#3. Rhea Ripley is as good as a pro wrestler gets
Rhea Ripley is an extremely successful wrestler. She held the Women's World Title for over a year before an injury forced her to vacate the belt following WrestleMania XL. Despite that, Rhea had an incredible start and finish.
She headlined WWE Elimination Chamber 2024 in Australia and has been part of some of the best feuds of the year with Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan. However, above all else, Rhea is simply everything someone could want in a wrestler. She can talk, has unbelievable charisma, can deliver in the ring as well as anyone, and is absurdly popular. Ripley is a star.
If it weren't for an injury keeping Rhea Ripley away from the ring, she could and likely would be higher on this list. The next two entrants should be concerned as if Rhea is more active in 2025, she may end up #1.
#2. Gunther is arguably the best in-ring worker in the world
Given how impressive he is, Gunther is #2 on this list, which seems almost insulting. The Austrian star has been part of WWE since 2019 and has been a champion for over 75% of his time in the company. The Ring General is a former NXT UK and Intercontinental Champion
The Ring General has had a banner year. He held the WWE Intercontinental Championship until WrestleMania XL, having achieved the longest reign in the title's history last year. He then won King of the Ring and became the World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam.
In addition to his many accolades, Gunther is simply one of the best wrestlers in the world. Many legends, including The Undertaker, have shown support for The Ring General for his unique in-ring style and promos.
#1. Cody Rhodes has been consistent all year
The number one WWE star of 2024 has to be Cody Rhodes. While numerous greats are on this list, many have been held back in some way due to a limited schedule or injuries.
Cody, on the other hand, has done it all. He won the 2024 Men's Royal Rumble Match. He then defeated Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. Eight months later, Rhodes still holds the gold and has had great matches and feuds with numerous stars.
The thing that puts The Amercian Nightmare above even Gunther is that he is truly the face of the company. Rhodes also proved himself as the promotion's top star when he defeated The Ring General to become the inaugural Crown Jewel Champion.
Be it in media appearances, on posters, in main events, or when given a microphone, there is no doubt who the man is. Cody is arguably one of the biggest babyfaces in WWE since John Cena and 2025 may even be better for the former AEW EVP. That is, of course, if someone like Rhea Ripley doesn't surpass him.
