Spreading Indian Spice in NXT- Lovepreet Sangha
Recruited in 2015 for NXT, the professional wrestling developmental branch for WWE, Lovepreet Sangha hails from India and is a former Kabaddi player. Billed at 6-foot, 225-pound, Lovepreet was one of the top raiders in the World Kabaddi League in 2014 and was a part of the team that won the league championship.
Moving away from India, Lovepreet is adjusting to a new lifestyle away from home in the USA. In the latest episode of The Breaking Ground series, he mentions that moving to America was one of the hardest steps he ever took in his life.
He further discusses that his father is in India and he is very supportive of the aspiring pro-wrestler. Unfortunately, Lovepreet’s mom passed away 10 years back. He mentions that leaving family is not a part of the culture, but he is obliged to do it as part of his job.
At the performance Centre, Lovepreet is getting trained under, Robbie Brookside, a former pro wrestler. Robbie is a trainer at the NXT territory and he is quite found of Indian culture. Lovepreet mention that he is very comfortable around Robbie as he like Indians and India food.
To get to know people better, Lovepreet invites Robbie and a few other folks from NXT for a meal and cooks traditional Indian Punjabi food.
Lovepreet has shown a good performance in NXT so far and he even competed in a Battle Royal. Although he was eliminated quite quickly, he still received good feedback and encouragement backstage.
Eliminating all the odds, Lovepreet is on his way to make it big in the WWE.
