Stephanie McMahon furious over AJ Lee equal pay Tweet

According to the Wrestling Observer Stephanie McMahon was furious that AJ Lee showed her up on social media after she re-Tweeted Patricia Arquette’s feminist equal pay speech at the Oscars.

Even though she's angry she cannot punish AJ in any way, as it would be terrible for PR. Vince reportedly told her to take it on the chin and think of the bigger picture.

It is absolutely true that the female wrestlers on WWE TV make far less than the men. However in NXT there is more of an equal wage between all talents, with some women making more than the men because they were coaxed through modelling agencies, while indy wrestlers signed up regardless of what they were offered because they had the passion.

While the Divas merch sales don't compare to most of the men's, AJ has done particularly well in that regard. Rating's wise Divas have never had the highest rated segments in terms of matches.
