Stephanie and Ronda Rousey gel together at ESPYS awards, The Shield still popular, Natalya
The wrestling world was abuzz when UFC Women's Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey made a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 31. Rousey's involvement at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, California, came when The Rock brought her in from the crowd to confront Steph and Triple H. And there are talks of Rousey to take on WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon in a singles match next year at WrestleMania 32, which will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Whether the match will happen or not it remains to be seen, but the protagonists ran into each other at ESPN’s ESPY Awards in Los Angeles tonight. Rousey won the award for Best Female Athlete. Below is photo tweeted by Stephanie McMahon:
While it’s been over a year since The Shield disbanded, their popularity among the fans remains unperturbed. If nothing then the latest WWE poll shows that. WWE’s website has a new poll asking fans which faction they would like to see reunite – The Shield, The Wyatt Family, DX, The Nexus, The Union, The Corporation, The nWo, The Ministry of Darkness, The Mean Street Posse or The Nation of Domination.
With almost 3,000 votes, The Shield is leading with 47%. DX is next with 15%. While there were plans of WWE bringing back the stable, its been scrapped for now. Whether or not, WWE listens to the opinion of their fans, it remains to be seen. However we are keeping our fingers crossed.
Natalya will be on next week’s episode of WWE Tough Enough. She noted on Twitter that they filmed with the Clermont, FL Police Department at a challenge. Below is a preview:
