WWE News: Stephanie McMahon talks about origin of Brand Split idea

Stephanie will announce the name of the new Raw GM this Monday

About one month ago, WWE announced that they are going to make one of the biggest structural changes in their company in the recent history, by separating the rosters for Raw and SmackDown into separate entities.

But how long did WWE officials or the boss, Vince McMahon, for that matter, have this idea in their minds? According to the daughter of the Chairman of the Board, the idea has been in the works for 'quite sometime'.

Actually, during a recent appearance on The Wrestling Compadres Slamcast, The New Commissioner of Raw opened up a bit about the idea of the Brand Split. According to Steph, Vince had the idea in his mind for some time but it only got finalised as SmackDown Live neared.

“It’s something that Vince McMahon had planned on for quite some time, but we hadn’t fully developed it until it got closer to SmackDown going live. It has been in the works for a little while now. But the Shane McMahon storyline certainly gives us a great storyline platform to promote it.”

WWE Fans will witness the brand split coming into full effect when the Commissioners of WWE Raw and SmackDown, Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon, will choose the Superstars for their roster on the first episode of SmackDown live this Tuesday.
