SummerSlam 2019: 2 matches that might steal the show and 2 matches that might not live up to the hype
The Biggest Show of the Summer has arrived and we are less than forty eight hours away. Toronto will host SummerSlam for the first time and we could expect an action-packed show. Considering the match card, SummerSlam should meet the expectations of the fans.
SummerSlam is one of the big four PPVs of the company. It is considered the second biggest pay-per-view after WrestleMania. SummerSlam was introduced in 1988 and it will be thirty second edition of the show in Toronto. SummerSlam will take place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
A total of ten matches are confirmed for the event and it will be interesting to see if some more matches are added to the card. A number of titles will be defended at SummerSlam, while some gigantic names will compete.
Let's analysis two matches that could steal the show at SummerSlam and two matches that might not live up to the hype.
#2 Might not live up to the hype: Goldberg vs Dolph Ziggler
Goldberg made a shocking return on RAW where he showed up to challenge Dolph Ziggler. The Show Off was taking shots at Goldberg and the latter answered it on the Red Brand this week. The Miz backed out from the match as he was scheduled to fight Ziggler at SummerSlam.
Goldberg's last match was at Super ShowDown where he fought The Undertaker. There is no denying that it was a disastrous showing and the dream match turned into a nightmare. Goldberg will be aiming to prove the critics wrong when he will grace the ring at Scotiabank Arena.
Although WWE has hyped the bout this week, the fans could get disappointed. Ziggler is certainly an incredible performer but the same cannot be applied on Goldberg. Despite being a titanic name, Goldberg never delivered classic matches. Moreover, the fifty-two-year-old is in the twilight of his career and we can not expect an awe-inspiring performance from the WCW legend. A majority of his matches have been squash matches to prove the dominance and the scenario could be similar on Sunday.
