Rumours: WWE Summerslam plans changed, Ambrose to turn heel?
Source: The Wrestling Observer
Ever since WrestleMania culminated, it has been apparent that Brock Lesnar will face Seth Rollins at SummerSlam in his rematch for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. However, that plan may be slightly altered.
It was presumed that Lesnar would return in late July following Battleground, but it now seems to be a different situation, since Lesnar is reportedly being pushed up to return after Money In The Bank, quite a bit in advance, meaning he could have his rematch against Rollins at Battleground. The outcome of this match would likely be Rollins retaining his championship in a sly manner, leading up to a rematch at SummerSlam.
As per The Wrestling Observer, Lesnar’s rematch at SummerSlam will now feature a third competitor, to ‘even’ Rollins’ chances against the Beast Incarnate. Who this third person will be remains unclear as of now, but it makes for some interesting food for thought.
In other news, it appears as if Roman Reigns will not turn on Dean Ambrose as many seem to think will happen. Rather, according to CageSide Seats, Reigns will inadvertently cost Ambrose his match against Seth Rollins at Money In The Bank, causing Dean to turn heel on Roman, in turn, helping Reigns go over with the fans.
As it stands, taking these rumours into account, we’re set for a babyface Roman Reigns taking on a heel Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Brock Lesnar and an unknown third participant.
