Surprise attack; confrontation with major champion? - 4 things CM Punk can do at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event will take place tonight and CM Punk is currently not booked for a match. However, The Second City Saint recently teased making an appearance at the show at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, New York.

There are four title matches scheduled for the event, and Drew McIntyre will be squaring off against Sami Zayn in a singles match. Punk defeated McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell Match at Bad Blood to end their memorable rivalry earlier this year.

Listed below are four things CM Punk can do at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event tonight:

#4. CM Punk could work on commentary during WWE Saturday Night's Main Event

CM Punk teased that he could make an appearance during Saturday Night's Main Event while on commentary last night for CFFC. The 46-year-old suggested that he may show up during the show to join Jesse "The Body" Ventura.

Punk could show up to call commentary alongside the legend for a match during the show tonight. The veteran was also the special guest commentator for the World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre at WWE WrestleMania XL earlier this year and wound up costing The Scottish Warrior the title during The Show of Shows.

Drew McIntyre went on hiatus following his loss to CM Punk at WWE Bad Blood. The former World Heavyweight Champion returned on the December 2 edition of RAW and attacked Sami Zayn following the latter's loss to Seth Rollins. McIntyre also attacked Jey Uso backstage during the show and hit Jimmy Uso with a Claymore during last night's edition of SmackDown.

McIntyre is seemingly upset at The Usos and Sami Zayn for teaming up with Roman Reigns at WWE Survivor Series. CM Punk also competed alongside the OG Bloodline in the Men's WarGames Match last month, but McIntyre noted that at least The Second City Saint took a bribe to agree to partner with Reigns.

Punk could show up during McIntyre's bout against Zayn at Saturday Night's Main Event and cost his rival the match.

#2. The veteran could confront World Heavyweight Champion Gunther

Gunther is the reigning World Heavyweight Champion and will be defending his title tonight at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. The leader of The Imperium was originally supposed to defend the title against Finn Balor, but the RAW General Manager recently added Damian Priest to the match to make it a Triple Threat.

CM Punk made it known on the December 2 edition of the red brand that he had his sights set on challenging for a title at WrestleMania 41. The company has also seemingly been teasing a rivalry between Punk and Gunther.

If The Ring General can retain the World Heavyweight Championship tonight, Punk could decide to confront him following his victory.

#1. Punk and Rollins could brawl during tonight's show

CM Punk and Seth Rollins appeared to be heading towards a clash at WWE WrestleMania XL, but the match never took place. Punk tore his triceps during the Men's Royal Rumble Match last year and was unable to compete on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Seth Rollins confronted CM Punk on the December 2 edition of WWE RAW and the two stars traded strikes. The former AEW star belittled The Visionary last Monday on the red brand and Rollins could be plotting his revenge.

Punk may be scheduled to commentate during Saturday Night's Main Event, but Rollins could attack him while he was at the announcer's table. The two stars would then have a massive brawl to set up their rumored match on RAW's debut episode on Netflix on January 6, 2025.
