Surprise Royal Rumble entrant to confront and eliminate his old rival Brock Lesnar after 22 years? Analyzing the possibility

Brock Lesnar has been out of action since his match against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. However, The Beast Incarnate is expected to return to the company at Royal Rumble. However, he might not be the only legend returning during the Rumble match.

There are rumors that The Rock could return as a late entrant in the match and win it. He had teased going after Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 when he returned at RAW Day 1. The Brahma Bull hasn't competed in a match since WrestleMania 32.

A confrontation between Brock Lesnar and The Rock would certainly be something the fans would like to watch. The two men last competed against each other in 2002 when a young Brock Lesnar defeated The Rock to become WWE Champion at SummerSlam. The Brahma Bull could finally avenge his loss by throwing Lesnar over the top rope and eliminating him from the Royal Rumble match.

Brock Lesnar and The Rock are expected to return at Royal Rumble

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that WWE had discussed The Rock appearing as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble this year. However, it depends on Dwayne Johnson's availability. He had also stated that Lesnar was likely to return to the PLE as well.

"'The idea of Rock as a surprise Rumble entrant coming in late and winning was discussed for past years when there was an idea of him headlining Mania. So while nobody has advertised it and it probably wouldn’t happen, I wouldn’t reject it as a possibility. Obviously this is completely up to Dwayne Johnson,'' said Meltzer

The WWE Universe has been engaging in discussions about The Beast Incarnate making a comeback at the highly anticipated Royal Rumble Premium Live Event scheduled for next month. According to Meltzer, there are expectations that the former Universal Champion will indeed return at the Royal Rumble.
