Terry Funk suffering pneumonia, Scott Hall and Jim Ross GFW updates

Funk misses Japan tour due to illness

- WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk is currently suffering from pneumonia and has had to cancel upcoming dates in Osaka, Japan. His brother Dory Funk Jr. will be replacing him in a match teaming with Tenryu and Nosawa to take on Suwama, Atsushi Aoki and Hikaru Sato.

Terry Funk turns 71 years old next month, and despite “retiring” many times it doesn’t look like he’s ready to truly hang up the boots. Not even pneumonia can keep him from doing what he loves.

- According to the Wrestling Observer newsletter Scott Hall has been pulled from Jeff Jarrett’s GFW, not because WWE have offered him a backstage gig at NXT, but because of the news that he’s fallen off the wagon and drinking again. Jarrett reportedly doesn’t want any negative publicity for his new promotion. The same may be true for WWE.

Meanwhile despite appearing at the GFW press conference in Las Vegas, MMA star Chael Sonnen reportedly hasn’t signed his announcer’s contract yet and may be waiting until a TV deal is in place. JR has also been courted but no deal has been signed.
