WWE News: The Miz reflects on Ronda Rousey's run in the WWE so far
What’s the story?
TMZ Sports recently caught up with current WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and his wife Maryse, who were both asked about their thoughts regarding Ronda Rousey’s career so far in the WWE and her on-going rivalry with Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon.
In case you didn’t know…
Following her WWE debut at the 2018 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Rousey has already engaged in her first feud in the WWE against current WWE Raw commissioner and her husband, Triple H.
Also, as noted on this past week’s edition of Raw, Rousey will now team up with the Raw GM Kurt Angle at this year’s WrestleMania and take on the Authority in a mixed tag team match.
The heart of the matter
While interacting with TMZ Sports, Miz gave props to Rousey for getting off to a good start in the WWE and claimed that the former UFC superstar has been getting a strong response from the WWE Universe.
However, the current WWE Intercontinental Champion believes that despite getting off to a great start in the WWE, Rousey has been messing with the wrong people in the Authority, who could turn out to be a great threat to the former UFC Bantamweight Champion.
Additionally, The Miz also talked about Rousey’s in-ring work and claimed that back in the UFC, she was an incredible athlete and proved herself as one of the baddest women on the planet.
However, on the other hand, the WWE is a completely different art and The A-Lister still hasn’t had a chance of seeing Rousey train, so he has no clue about her in-ring capabilities.
What’s next?
The Miz, who is currently in his eighth reign as the WWE Intercontinental champion, will defend his belt at WrestleMania 34 against two of the very best and athletic superstars in the company today, in Finn Balor and Seth Rollins, in a triple threat match.
Author’s Take
The rivalry between Rousey and The Authority has definitely heated up a lot and I can’t wait to see what the former UFC star has to offer in terms of in-ring competition, when she finally steps into the squared circle to compete in a match at WrestleMania 34.
