The Rock (birth name: Dwayne Douglas Johnson) is a professional wrestler and businessman from the USA. He was born on May 2, 1972, in Hayward, California, and is better known by his ring name "The Rock". Johnson is seen as an important part of the development and progress of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE, previously known as WWF). His films have procured more than $3.5 billion in North America and more than $10.5 billion worldwide, making "The Peoples' Champion" one of the world's highest-earning Hollywood stars. The ten-time World Champion is the co-owner of Seven Bucks Productions and the XFL. The 6th Triple Crown Champion in WWE is a two-time Intercontinental Champion and a five-time WWF Tag Team Titleholder.

Who is The Rock’s Mom, Ata Johnson?

Ata Johnson is the mother of Dwayne Johnson. Ata Johnson was born on October 25, 1948, in Hawaii, United States. She was exposed to wrestling from the get-go as she was naturally introduced to a family of wrestlers. She is the daughter of Sione Papali'i Fitisemanu, the first husband of Ata's mother Ofelia "Lia" Maivia, who was also a renowned promoter of wrestling. Ata was later adopted by Peter Maivia with whom her mother Lia was married. Ata has two siblings, Toa Maivia and Peter Maivia Jr. According to People Magazine, Ata met Rocky Johnson during his training days under Peter Maivia and started dating secretly. Ata and Rocky exchanged wedding vows in 1978 when Rocky divorced his first wife Una Sparks. The Rock is the only child of the pair and they separated in 2003.

The Rock celebrated his mom's birthday with a special song and uploaded the video on Instagram. He also celebrated her birthday with a Samoan dance two years later in 2022.

In 1996, Ata appeared on one of the episodes of 'WWE RAW.' In 2000, she was seen at 'WrestleMania 2000'. Johnson also made a guest appearance on the famous TV program 'Late Show with David Letterman' in 2002. Two years later, she was seen in a television narrative series named 'Biography.' In 2009, she appeared in one of the episodes of a TV series called 'Tagata Pasifika.' She has made several appearances on 'WWE' shows, for example, 'Survivor Series,' 'WrestleMania XXVIII,' 'WrestleMania XXX,' and 'WWE SmackDown Live.' In 2016, she gave a voice narrative on 'The Last Matai.' She was seen in 'WWE: Mae Mae Young Classic Women's Tournament.' Ata also appeared in a TV series about her son The Rocks' life named "Young Rock" in 2021.
