The Rock to return to the ring; major retirement match? - 4 WWE legends who could be part of WrestleMania 41
WWE WrestleMania 41 will air live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, next year. The event is typically World Wrestling Entertainment's biggest show of the year, and often the company has a few surprises in store for fans.
The Stamford-based promotion has been incorporating legends more as of late, and recently featured several stars from ECW at the 2300 Arena for an episode of NXT. The company could be planning to feature several stars from the past at The Show of Shows next year in Las Vegas.
Listed below are four WWE legends who could be a part of WrestleMania 41:
#4. The Rock could be in action at WWE WrestleMania 41
The Rock teamed up with Roman Reigns during Night One of WrestleMania XL to defeat Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes in a Tag team Match. The Brahma Bull pinned Rhodes to pick up the victory. The Great One appeared in the final moments of Bad Blood last month to have a staredown with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns but did not get physically involved at the premium live event.
WWE initially wanted to have The Rock battle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL, but those plans changed after the "WeWantCody!" movement went viral. The Final Boss could return in the coming weeks to align with Solo Sikoa's version of The Bloodline and go on to battle Reigns at WrestleMania 41 next year.
#3. Stone Cold Steve Austin may have a match at WrestleMania 41
Stone Cold Steve Austin competed in an impromptu match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, Texas. The Rattlesnake picked up a pinfall victory over The Prizefighter and has not returned to the ring since.
Austin recently disclosed that he would be interested in making an appearance at WrestleMania 41 due to the event being in Las Vegas. Stone Cold may decide to return for one final match on The Grandest Stage of Them All next April.
#2. Goldberg to have his retirement match at WrestleMania 41?
Goldberg made a surprise appearance last month at WWE Bad Blood and was confronted by World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. The legend hopped over the barricade at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta to retaliate, but security broke it up before the two stars were able to trade strikes.
WWE may be planning on having Goldberg challenge The Ring General for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41 next year. Da Man would finally be given the retirement match he deserves, and Gunther may add a massive victory to his resume if he can retire the 57-year-old.
#1. Trish Stratus might return to the ring at Survivor Series 2024
Trish Stratus has not competed in a match since her loss to Becky Lynch in a Steel Cage Match at Payback 2023. However, the Hall of Famer did return earlier this year to host Money in the Bank in Toronto, Canada.
Stratus proved that she could still hang with today's stars during her return to the ring last year. WWE could bring the veteran back once again to continue her rivalry with Zoey Stark. The Pure Fusion Collective star betrayed Stratus last year at Payback and hit her with a Z360 following her loss to Becky Lynch. Status and Stark could potentially settle their differences once and for all at WrestleMania 41.
