The Rock to save 17-time champion from getting suspended at the hands of Triple H? WWE SmackDown surprise explored
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes teamed up to take on a common foe in Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team bout at WWE Bad Blood 2024. The OTC pinned the self-proclaimed Tribal Chief to win the contest. The Rock then made his much-anticipated comeback, but the show went off-air soon after, leaving fans hanging.
That, however, wasn’t all that happened. The Stamford-based promotion has been building tension between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. Finally, The Prizefighter had enough and launched a vicious attack on The American Nightmare in the parking lot, off camera.
Following the attack, Triple H, the Chief Creative Officer, reacted to what had occurred between Owens and Rhodes and assured fans that the matter was being handled. This hints at management being furious with the former WWE Universal Champion, leading to a suspension. However, The Final Boss could use his power as a TKO board member and save Owens from suspension.
During the WrestleMania XL Kickoff event, we saw the tension between The Game and The Final Boss escalate. The Rock, not happy that Cody Rhodes had exercised his right as the Royal Rumble winner to face Roman at the Show of Shows and that he had insulted his family, demanded that Triple H fix things. This angle involving Triple H could lead to some interesting storylines in the future, including The Rock overriding any punishment meted out to Owens by Triple H.

Cody Rhodes had a rough weekend. He was part of an intense tag team match against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu before getting attacked and betrayed by his buddy Kevin Owens. Despite that, The American Nightmare surprisingly made an appearance on Monday Night RAW to keep an eye on the Heavyweight Championship match, as he wanted to take notes on what it would take to win at Crown Jewel.
While The American Nightmare was backstage, Cathy Kelley stopped him for a quick interview during which he was asked about Kevin’s betrayal. He told her he would address that on the blue brand and did not want to speculate about it. Cody said he was on WWE RAW to put together a game plan for the Champion vs. Champion bout at WWE Crown Jewel 2024.
