In case you didn’t know…
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
Over the past few years, Johnson has also become the biggest Hollywood star in the world, with most of his movies grossing several million dollars.
The heart of the matter
Apparently, a teenage girl by the name Katie Kelzenberg posted a video of herself, wherein she’s dressed replete with The Rock’s infamous “fanny pack” attire from the 1990s—asking Rocky out as her prom date.
One ought to note that The Rock will be shooting a movie in Hawaii called “Jungle Cruise” and shall be unable to attend her prom, however, The Rock reached out to the fan regardless.
The Rock spoke on Kelzenberg’s high school intercom system, and with the teenager as well as other students keenly listening, Rocky revealed that he’s rented out 232 seats at a nearby theatre “Oakdale Cinemas”—where Kelzenberg, her close friends & family can go watch his new movie Rampage.
Furthermore, he also stated that all the popcorn, candy and soda is free for Kelzenberg and her group, as she’ll be a part of the special screening of Rampage.
The Rock also jested that since he and Katie are “best friends now”, that officially makes Rocky a “Stillwater Area High School pony”.
What’s next?
The Rock is presently busy with his Hollywood obligations.
However, he continues to make sporadic appearances both on-screen as well as in the role of an ambassador for WWE.
Author’s take
The Rock truly is one of the most entertaining people to have ever walked the face of God’s green earth.
The Brahma Bull’s spontaneity and wittiness never cease to amaze, and here’s hoping Katie Kelzenberg—a self-proclaimed super-fan of The Rock—has fun at the Rampage screening.
