The Shield: Taking a look at the three members of WWE’s greatest faction

What makes these three men iconic?
What makes these three men iconic?

As one of the most influential, and arguably the most successful faction in the WWE, The Shield has managed to accomplish a lot in less than 7 years together. The trio has come across many factions, such as The New Day, Evolution, and the Dogs of War, and has still managed to come across each time.

While the trio has accomplished a lot in its time, there are always reasons which can keep wrestlers unhappy. This has resulted in Dean Ambrose deciding to leave the company and thus disbanding the team for good.

While the faction has disbanded a few times in the past, we could actually witness the final match involving The Shield in WWE which would definitely be an emotional moment for the fans.

Since all three members of the faction are extremely talented, famous, and successful, we’ve decided to evaluate their success and championship wins in the company. Let’s take a look at which member has had the most successful run the company prior to their last match.

#3 Roman Reigns

For a lot of fans, Roman Reigns is the centrepiece of The Shield. As he has been the powerhouse of the group, it’s understandable why it seems as though the company favours him over the other two members of the faction.

Just like Dean Ambrose, Reigns never won any championships during his time in NXT. Instead, he got rewarded for his efforts on the main roster with a lot of individual push and success.

Overall, Reigns currently has seven championship reigns under his belt on the main roster. This includes the World Heavyweight Championships, one Universal Championship, one United States Championship, one Intercontinental Championship, and a tag team championship with Seth Rollins.

That isn’t all, as the superstar has also won the Royal Rumble in 2015, and was the main event at WrestleMania on a number of occasions.

Another one of Reigns accomplishment's includes ending The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak, which speaks volumes about his value to the company.

Most of Reigns’ success is as a solo wrestler with only one of his seven reigns with a title has been in tag team efforts.

With a move from Raw to SmackDown as part of the Superstars Shakeup 2019, we could see him become the WWE Champion sooner than later and lead the blue brand.
