The Stay Awards: Hell In A Cell 2012

Hell In A Cell happened on Sunday, and it was, well, meh. The undercard didn’t feature much substance, and the main event was only 10 minutes. There were still a few moments that I enjoyed, but all in all, it wasn’t worth $50.00. Maybe $20.00. Anyways, it’s time to rundown all the guys who did the best (and worst) during the build-up to the PPV and the PPV itself.

Best Match Award

The Best Match Award goes to the best match that took place at Hell In A Cell 2012.

Winner: Sheamus vs. Big Show

In what was probably the most shocking moment of the night, the match that everyone expected to be the worst ended up being the best. The match started off a little slow, with Big Show taking control of Sheamus, but during the middle of the match, it really started to pick up. After an extremely awesome White Noise and TWO finisher kick-outs, Big Show surprised a lot of people by actually beating Sheamus. CLEANLY.

Best Feud Award

The Best Feud Award goes to the individuals who participated in the best rivalry that culminated or progressed at Hell In A Cell 2012.

Winner: CM Punk vs. Ryback

Although the Sheamus/Show match was awesome, the rivalry itself was pretty lame. For Punk and Skip, it was the opposite. The feud was great, featuring a lot of exciting moments, some split crowds, and a lot of unpredictability of what was going to happen. The match may have not been as great as a main event match should have been (Ryback isn’t the most technically proficient wrestler), the journey there was still enjoyable.

Best Diva Award

The Best Diva Award goes to the Diva who excelled the most at Hell In A Cell 2012 and the events leading up to it.

Winner: Eve

Eve has won every match she’s been in (which has been a surprising amount), and she won an actually decent Triple Threat match at Hell In A Cell. She also did a Senton Bomb. That’s like doing a Shooting Star Press for the WWE‘s Divas Division.

Biggest Loser Award

The Biggest Loser award goes to the individual who has failed the most at Hell In A Cell 2012 and the events leading up to it.

Winner (or loser): Zack Ryder

Zack Ryder has been on one hell of a losing streak. He’s lost every match he’s been in during the past few months, and he’s gotten stuck in a craptastic tag team with Santino. On the bright side, he did appear at Hell In A Cell. It may have been for a few seconds, and he was dressed up like a witch, but that’s better than most guys get, right?

Best Superstar

The Best Superstar award goes to the individual who has excelled the most at Hell In A Cell 2012 and the events leading up to it.

Winner: Big Show

Big Show gets this award because he proved EVERYBODY wrong (including me). Big Show was going into Hell In A Cell in a match that everybody thought was going to be terrible, and it ended up being the match of the night. Beating Sheamus cleanly for the World Heavyweight Championship doesn’t hurt either.
