Three likely reasons why Jimmy Uso has not returned to WWE SmackDown despite Roman Reigns' comeback

Former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns made a thrilling comeback during the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The Original Tribal Chief saved Cody Rhodes from an attack by The Bloodline after The American Nightmare's victory over Solo Sikoa in an Undisputed WWE Championship Steel Cage Match.

Later in the show, Solo Sikoa pitched a tag team match against Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes at Bad Blood 2024. Rhodes initially refused to sign the contract, and the Orginal Tribal Chief told Aldis he wanted to address the fans. Everyone felt it was almost time when Jimmy Uso would finally return to be Roman's partner at Bad Blood.

However, Jimmy Uso did not return to the show. In a shocking turn during the main event segment, The American Nightmare signed the contract and agreed to team up with The OTC for a match against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood 2024.

Fans are confused at the prolonged absence of the former Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion. Jimmy Uso was last seen on television during the April 12, 2024, episode of the Friday Night Show.

Let's look at three potential reasons why Jimmy Uso hasn't returned to WWE TV:

#3. WWE might need more time to build Roman Reigns before reuniting The OG Bloodline

Roman Reigns made his return at SummerSlam 2024, and he was in revenge mode. And without wasting any time, the former Shield member unleashed an attack on Solo Sikoa and cost the latter the title match against Cody Rhodes.

The Original Tribal Chief is being booked as a babyface despite the gray nature of his character. WWE is hugely patient and calculative while booking Roman Reigns. There is a possibility that the Stamford-based company needs more time to build a proper persona of him as the good guy before his eventual reunion with The OG Bloodline.

Jimmy Uso is undoubtedly going to be one of the first members to join forces with The OTC after his return. Once the promotion feels Roman's character is ready, they will start to assemble The Original Bloodline.

#2. The company might have no immediate plans for him

Friday Night SmackDown is currently stacked with big names, such as Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and LA Knight, among others.

However, most of the stars are currently engaged in their respective programs. Furthermore, Jimmy Uso's run as a singles star was disappointing, and with the tag team division more-or-less stacked, there is no viable spot for the veteran performer on the brand.

Hence, the company might be holding off his comeback until the inevitable reunion of The OG Bloodline.

#1. WWE could have plans for him to return at Survivor Series 2024

A recent report suggested Roman Reigns would compete at the Crown Jewel and the Survivor Series 2024 Premium Live Events this winter.

Fans believe that Roman's Bloodline will lock horns with Solo and Co. in a WarGames Match on November 30. Hence, the Triple H-led creative team may have plans for Jimmy Uso's return to television at the marquee PLE in Canada. The former Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion could make a shocking comeback ahead of the WarGames Match and join forces with The OTC.
