TNA News: Son of Eric Bischoff shares thoughts on current state of TNA

Former TNA Star Garett Bischoff as a member of the Aces and Eights faction

Recently, TNA has received its most negative publicity since the start of the company. While there has been talk that the company is on its way to dissolving for a number of years now, a host of lawsuits have proven this to be true now more than ever.

With factors such as bouncing around days, times, and networks, along with former mainstays such as Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, Eric Young, Samoa Joe, and James Storm all gone, TNA is becoming harder to rebound and resurge. A number of talent have shared their opinions on the state of the company and what potentially going out of business means to them.

On a recent episode of the Pancakes and Powerslams Show, former TNA star and son of Eric Bischoff, Garett Bischoff, shared his thoughts on the current state of TNA.

"The fans suffer and the talents suffer. So, I want to see TNA do good. I want to see all wrestling companies do good, because it gives people places to go and places to work. That's the whole thing. At the end of the day, [when] people allow themselves to get wrapped up in the bitterness of everything, they're missing the point.

Wrestling is a passion, and I don't what to see anybody not be able to pursue their passion because of stupid stuff. So, I hope it all works out for them for the sake of the fans, and for the sake of a place for people to work. I don't want to see any of my brothers and sisters out on their rear ends because of something stupid."

Bischoff debuted on TNA in 2010, as a referee named Jackson James. Eventually, he would don a Danny Davis-style character, becoming a villainous referee and helping the heel faction Immortal during matches. He was revealed to be Eric Bischoff’s son at Bound for Glory 2011, turning face in the process of their rivalry.

He achieved his biggest success by being chosen as a member of the biker gang faction, Aces & Eights.

Once his mask was removed, he started to team with fellow second-generation superstar Wes Brisco, before the faction dissolved. He was released in 2015, and is now a Firearms Instructor. He also has his own clothing brand, One Bad Cat, Inc., specializing in t-shirts, tank tops, and hoodies.

Although Bischoff is concentrating on a career outside of wrestling, a return is not completely out of consideration, as he mentioned during the interview that wrestling is still “in his blood.”
