Today, we come down to number 8 in our series of the 10 most overrated wrestlers in the WWE. There have been many performers who were given undue credit, and were pushed at the cost of the other individuals who deserved it. When we had the idea of starting this series, we had to consider a lot of options, as there have been quite a few superstars who, for one reason or the other, received special treatment from the management, although they weren’t as talented as some of their peers. With WWE pushing people with bigger physiques or due to their backstage affiliations, there are many performers who made it big in the WWE for other reasons than their competencies.

Today, we look at someone who became a household name in professional wrestling mostly due to his friends and people surrounding him. There is also a famous belief that the fans booed him, not because they disliked the heel character of the individual, but didn’t want to see him in the ring. He won the WWF Light Heavyweight championship, the WWF Tag Team championships and the European championship, and was a part of the D – Generation X stable. He is none other than 1 – 2 – 3 Kid, a.k.a “X – Pac” Sean Waltman.

Waltman started his career in the WWF as a jobber, but his career took off with an upset victory over Razor Ramon on an episode of Monday Night RAW. He was then involved in a feud with Razor, before Razor turned face. Waltman then won the WWF Tag Team championships along with Marty Jannetty. His biggest moment however came when he came close to defeating the WWF champion Bret “The Hitman” Hart for the title. Waltman then left the WWF and went to its rival company, WCW.

Waltman debuted as the new member of the New World Order in WCW, and won the WCW Cruiserweight championship and the WCW Tag Team championships with Scott Hall. Nash, Hall and Waltman became notorious backstage due to their politics, which led to a hostile environment backstage. Waltman then started doing drugs, and was fired from WCW after he got injured. Bischoff then commented about Waltman, saying he needed to keep him and the others in check due to their behavior. Waltman then returned to the WWF.
