WrestleMania season is in full swing and once again the women are the talk heading into the biggest PPV of the year.

The most-talked about storyline going into WrestleMania is RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey, who was originally set to fight Becky Lynch. However, since Becky has been suspended, Charlotte Flair has stepped in to take her place. We all know that eventually, Becky is going to be added back to the match, making it a triple threat, which is what WWE wanted all along.

While the main focus seems to be on the RAW Women’s Championship, WWE has forgotten about SmackDown’s Women’s Champion Asuka. At the TLC PPV, Asuka won the ladder match to win the coveted championship. It was a huge moment for The Empress of Tomorrow, whose main roster debut has been filled with ups and downs.

Asuka hasn’t been seen much since winning the championship, but with WrestleMania coming up, she’s bound to be back on television to build up a feud.

So who will be Asuka’s WrestleMania opponent?

#3 Naomi

The number one person in the running for Asuka’s opponent is Naomi. Out of all the women on the SmackDown roster, she’s the obvious choice to become the next championship contender.

She is one of the most popular stars on the blue brand and a two-time Women’s Champion. There’s nothing more she’d love than to become a three-time champion, but she’ll have to go through the other challengers to secure her spot for WrestleMania.

Aside from her popularity, Naomi is the top choice because of her history with Asuka. For a short time, the two were tag partners and looked like possible contenders for the Women's Tag Titles. But their partnership came to an end when Asuka was moved into the main event scene.

Given their history, WWE could build a storyline around the former tag partners turned rivals as they fight for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. The two had a championship match a few days after TLC, which saw Asuka retain the title. Maybe it’s time the two had another match, this time on the grandest stage of them all.
