Top 5 current WWE superstars who have not held the World Championship

Roman Reigns as the World Champion.
Roman Reigns as the World Champion.Winning a World Championship is a big deal in WWE. The World Championship acts as a yardstick when people discuss the careers of great wrestlers: Ric Flair and John Cena have won 16 World Titles each; wrestlers like Jeff Hardy and Daniel Bryan worked all their lives to become a world champion.

However, not every great wrestler in WWE has won a world championship; even some Hall of Famers could never get their hands on the prestigious title. It may seem difficult to forge a storied career in WWE without winning a few world titles along the way, but it’s not impossible.

Here we take a look at five current superstars who are void of a world title but have still stood the test of time.

Honorable Mentions: R-Truth and Shelton Benjamin

#5 Goldust

The Bizarre One
'The Bizarre One' Goldust.

Goldust is one of the most mysterious characters in WWE history. He became the biggest heel soon after making his debut in the 90s. He was innovative and used to get massive crowd heat; plus, he put on great matches against the likes of Triple H and Roddy Piper. His push was dropped apparently due to backstage heat after which WWE parted ways with him.

After making his return to the company in 2013, he was dropped to the mid-card and could never really get over. He's slowly become a jobber and is only responsible for putting younger talent over.

Between WWF/E and WCW, Goldust has over 20 title reigns, but the prestigious World Championship still eludes him. It is highly unlikely for him to win the title now, considering he is way past his prime age. Though a guaranteed future Hall of Famer, Goldust will go down as one of the best wrestlers to never become a World Champion.
